I am a data engineer, machine learning enthusiast, and occasionally a music photographer. After finishing my masters in an evocatively ambiguous field of Applied Urban Science and Informatics at NYU Center for Urban Science and Progress, I joined Enigma.io, where I work on bringing in public data (something like this) into our open data repository (something like that) using ParseKit software which our team helps develop.
In 2009 my father and I founded Porto Franco Records, a San Francisco focused record label. In a span of four years we released some 30 albums showcasing an eclectic collective of Bay Area musicians. To help our music reach a wider audience I shot several dozen videos, often with more than a little help from Adam Willumsen and other videographers and recording engineers.
I photographed many of the artists we've worked with, as well as some others. One day I'll figure out how to add little media players to each image, until then their portraits and their music will unfortunately be separated by a few clicks.
